Tip #1. One of the first things you assemble is the spar carrythrough bulkhead. Don't put the outboard nutplates on the front half until later. These are the nutplates that will hold down the seats. The outboard ones catch on the landing gear attach brackets. I drilled them out to make installing the gear easier. Better to just leave them out!
Tip #2. While we are on the main bulthead, I didn't rivet the F-983B inboard cover support ribs to the front of the carrythrough. This allows the fuel supply lines to be bent and installed at the same time as the main gear support brackets. I couldn't see feeding the lines through and bending them as you go. The plusses; easier fuel line installation, the minuses; you have to buck the F-983 rivets while assembled. This takes a little doing, but isn't too much of a problem.
Tip #3. If you do the above, be sure to have the bushings in place in the cover support ribs when you put them on the fuel supply lines. Once everthing is in place, they won't slip into position as there is insuffecient clearance between the lines and ribs. A split plastic tube must then be used in place of the bushings. Don't ask how I know this!
Tip #4. Have the framework of the front upper fuselage (panel and supports) in place when you install the fuel vent lines. They must bend around the F-7105B sub panel.
Tip #5. Think hard about whether of not you will need to EVER remove the baggage compartment floor panels. It is easier to install nutplates in the floor ribs before you have them assembled into the fuselage. The same could be said for the seat floors, although I don't see much reason for removing them.
Tip #6. The static line runs along the main longeron for most of the length of the fuselage. The plans call for support only where it goes through the bulkheads. I added clips exactly like those used to support the fuel vent line near the fuel filler cap. This I see as especially important where the lines pass through the baggage compartment and cockpit area. There, I installed the clips between required rivets.
Tip #7. If you are installing steps, bend the fueslage side skins before cutting the holes for the steps. We did this and the bends came out much better than I believe they would have if we had done it the other way around.
