INVISIBLE WOUNDS OF WAR AT WORK
Featuring Marjorie Morrison, CEO & Founder, PsychArmor Institute
Mission Media is hosting a session at CTHRA’s HR Symposium on November 2, 2016 in Philadelphia. During the session, Marjorie Morrison, CEO and Founder of Pysharmor Institute, will outline some of the struggles veterans can face in employment settings. Marjorie will review the impact of Substance Use Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression and Traumatic Brain Injury as well as evidence-based treatments for these conditions.  This session will help HR professionals begin to understand what is required to build and execute appropriate accommodation plans for employees in need of additional support.  Session attendees will leave with tools to more confidently address the impact of invisible wounds of war in the workplace for the success of both veteran and civilian employees.

On July 13, 2016, Mission Media and The Walt Disney Company presented a workshop focused on how to target, recruit, engage, develop and retain military veterans in the cable and entertainment industry. Representing employers across the industry, 150 attendees were able to listen, learn and network with national thought leaders from industry companies, government agencies and veteran support organizations. The Heroes Work Here workshop was sponsored by CTHRA and the NCTA.
